What’s new with Converting (DPF4C)?

Have you ever had the need to convert Lotus Notes emails to PDF/TIF for long term storage within a DMS, PLM or ECM Systems? It is now possible with the newest version of the DPF4Convert solution. SEAL Systems has been converting Microsoft Outlook messages and we now offer similar functionality for Lotus Notes.

Another innovation with the DPF is a solution to create interactive callouts within PDFs that point to tags on a drawing. The final drawing is referred to as a “Smart PDF.” This includes, for example, identifying fields within a spreadsheet/text list or BOM containing specific information. This information is then interactively added to the PDF drawing based on key fields. Tags can be clicked or previewed to show this additional information. This automatic data collection and tagging process saves several hours of manual work for users.

Attach and Convert Files with SAP DMS

Click on this video for a brief, detailed demonstration on how you can attach and convert files within SAP DMS. Simply attach a word (excel, CAD, image, etc) to an existing Document Record (DIR) stored within SAP DMS. Once the set has been “approved” or has a status change, it can them be converted to PDF format and bundled together into a complete packet. The final PDF packet is stamped and watermarked with important company data, dates, times, etc. This final packet is then stored in the DMS securely providing company peace of mind.

SAP® Business Data Interchange with SEAL Systems DPF

Throughout this document (link provided below) we have identified the state of data management in various SAP modules, current or possible future requirements on provisioning intersecting data and documentation from existing information bases, and some real world case studies of these possibilities.

The features necessary for proper data interchange is already available, but the necessary tools to collect specific pieces of this information, from various interlinked modules, and deliver them in a seamless document with company identifying information, indexes and metadata is the key missing component.

Hopefully you can agree that there are many different requirements that a company may have to use a comprehensive and integrated SAP software add-on to fulfill the need for automated collection and distribution of already linked documents built on a foundation of good business processes management.
