Workstation Conversions
When considering collaboration, sharing and storage of files, one important question comes to mind -How can we convert an original application file—Office, graphics, or CAD—into a long term and easily distributable format like PDF or TIFF?
Generally the answer is found within the original application, as some of them enable the user to save various formats, including PDF. Other applications however cannot, and users are faced with add-ons and multiple software installations to cover a range of requirements identified by the business.
ConvertWIZ
Through a workstation deployed client called the ConvertWIZ Workbench, users within an organization will be able to quickly convert any local files to PDF, PDF/A or TIFF. Selecting an individual file, or through drag and drop operations, anyone can easily run a conversion for 1:1 results or a batch merge of various files and file types into a single collected multi-page PDF.
With these conversions taking place on a separate server, many file formats are supported without costly application license distribution, such as CAD or Office applications.
Seamless integration into the Windows printer driver functionality is also available, which enables a direct conversion request from within an application resulting in a converted PDF returned to the user’s workstation.
Microsoft Windows context menu conversion is also possible, giving the user the ability to select a conversion directly from a windows folder or other application areas where context menu clicks are available.
Additional features include selectable PDF encryption, and conversion destinations.
